Yesterday, a federal judge granted death row inmate Tommy David Strickler a new trial.
The state already said it will appeal.

Forty-seven- year- old Richard Maulick came to the area last month to start fresh after serving a 12 year prison sentence.
Maulick was convicted in 19-85 of sodomy and aggravated sexual battery against his daughter.
He claims the accusations were trumped up by his former wife to gain custody of their three children...but he pleaded guilty to the charges.
Now some residents are passing out flyers with Maulick's picture warning he's a criminal.

The railroad is donating three buildings, including the offices that will house a new higher education center.

With plans for the education center now taking shape, the railroad is donating the buildings to a downtown Roanoke foundation.

It's the same case he's accused of botching the first time.

Police say they found some of the stolen items in Tyree's house.

The E-mail was circulated by a fraternity student to other members of the fraternity.
A black fraternity member who got the message complained to professors, and eventually about 100 black students saw the posting.
Torgersen's wrote an open letter denoucing the e-mail and appealing for a commitment to a diverse campus community.
