It happened around seven this morning.
Two people were home at the time and a man apparently confronted the intruder.
The attack escalated and investigators say the husband shot and wounded the would-be robber.
His name has not been released because police have not charged him yet.
Investigators say no charges will be filed against the homeowners.

Members of Virginia's "Skydive The Point" skydiving club... and a few of their friends from around the country tried for two days to set a new state record.
