Democrat Don Beyer's 42-percent puts Gilmore's four point lead just outside the margin of error-- making Gilmore the leader in this race.

In our poll, Gilmore has a 53-37 advantage with white voters.
Beyer has a 68-12 advantage with black voters... but NO Virginia Democrat has won statewide office in modern times with less than 90-percent black support.
Doug Wilder declined to endorse Beyer in the midst of this poll.
