Three years ago when LOCAL police were trying to question Bramblett about
the Hodges murders he bought a gun.
Just two days after the bodies were found, STATE Police approved the
purchase in less than an hour.

Republican Jim Gilmore comes out on top in our latest "NEWS 7 Mason-Dixon
poll" with 46-percent support among likely voters.
Democrat Don Beyer's 42-percent puts Gilmore's four point lead just outside
the margin of error-- making Gilmore the leader in this race.
Gilmore also came out on top in a poll released by The Washington Post.
In our poll, Gilmore has a 53-37 advantage with white voters.
Beyer has a 68-12 advantage with black voters... but NO Virginia Democrat
has won statewide office in modern times with less than 90-percent black
support.
Doug Wilder declined to endorse Beyer in the midst of this poll.
Among men, Gilmore again has a 53-37 advantage.
Among women, Beyer has a slimmer 47-39 advantage.

A couple was home at the time and apparently the husband confronted the
intruder.
Investigators say the attack escalated and the husband allegedly shot and

His condition has not been released.
