Chicago fire officials say six people didn't have to die in a housefire this morning.

Four of the victims were children. Two firefighters were also hurt, fighting the blaze in an apartment building.
The building did NOT have any smoke detectors, which are required by law in Chicago.
Four people did manage to get out of the building unharmed.
Investigators don't know what caused the fire.

Thirty-three people were killed and at least 11 injured today when a bus collided with a tanker truck in South Africa.

The bus crashed into the rear of a the fuel tanker that stopped by the side of the road.
The tanker exploded on impact and flames engulfed the bus.
Emergency service workers say 11 people were thrown clear from the bus and were taken to a hospital.
Witnesses tried to help those trapped in the bus, but were forced back by the heat and flames.

In another bus crash in Turkey, 48 people died after an empty fuel truck and a passenger bus collided.
Police said many of the victims burned to death. Five others were injured in the accident.
The bus driver survived but the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A Radford man is dead following an accident last night in Montgomery County.
Daryl Edward Pultz died when a truck hit his car head on along route 114 around eight in the evening.
The driver of the truck was not seriously injured. Police are continuing to investigate the wreck.

To fund the project the development company borrowed 1-point-4 million dollars from The Summitt Company--owned by Mikkel Mandt.
But the development never got underway because Shenandoah Homes went bankrupt in November of '96.

The Seminoles used the big play to jump out to the lead in the first quarter. On Florida State's first play of the game Travis Minor takes the handoff and he out runs the Virginia defense for an 87 yard touchdown to make it 7 to nothing Noles.
On the next possession Seminole quarterback Thad Busby puts it up in the air and hits P. Ward on the 38 yard touchdown pass and Florida State led Virginia 14 to nothing.

The sheet metal began to fly on the very first lap when Phillip Morris gets tagged in the rear by David Hyder who started the race on the pole.
Jeff Agnew, Who dominates at New River, Was the leader after 150 laps when the race was stopped to invert the field for the top 8 cars in the front.
But the final lap was the best of the day a crash in turn one took out two cars and then while going into turn 3 Barry Bagerly and Eddie Johnson hook up and that allowed Billy Hogan of Troy, North Carolina to slip by for the win. Steve Lofton was second.
