Michelin and Goodyear say they've come up with a tire that can
go 55 miles an hour for 50 miles after going flat.
The tires are made so they stay on the wheel and keep their shape and
handling characteristics after losing air.
Michelin is already providing them on some cars and Goodyear
expects to have the new tires available next year.

After a strong start, the Dow got hammered by a Hong Kong crash that sent
markets reeling across the globe.
The industrial average lost 132-points.
The Nasdaq Composite was down 16.

voltage.
Using that principal, he developed a way to monitor rubbers, plastics and

improperly cured material.

Winston Cup race fans will have to wait one more day for the running of the
A-C Delco 400 at the North Carolina Motor Speedway.
Rain has forced postponement of the race until tomorrow at 10 in the
morning.

Houston Rocket forward Charles Barkley spent the night in an Orlando Jail.

Barkley was arrested after a nightclub fight. He is charged with aggravated
battery and resisting arrest without violence.
Barkley was reportedly released from the Orange County detention center on
six thousand dollars bond.
Team spokesman Tim Frank said Barkley will play in tonight's game against
the Magic.

The N-H-L's Tampa Bay Lightning has fired head coach Terry Crisp. Tampa
Bay is in last place in the Eastern Conference.
Assistant coach Rick Patterson will serve as interim coach while the team
searches for a permanent successor.
Crisp was in his sixth season with the Lightning that has a 2-7-and 2
record this season.
