The latest campaign filings are in for the candidates for governor-- and they show Republican Jim Gilmore in a strong position financially.
Gilmore reports 2-point-2 million dollars raised in the reporting period from October first to October twenty-second.
Out of that, he still had almost 1-point-2 million in the bank as of last Wednesday.
SS=Don Beyer

Meanwhile, Democrat Don Beyer had to combine fundraising with loans to raise just 1-point-3 million dollars during the same period.
Beyer ended it with 234- thousand dollars on hand.
Beyer campaign officials say NO problem; they've bought the ads they need.
SS=Campaign 97

The Gilmore campaign, on the other hand, is scurrying to make sure it's able to spend the 1-point-2 million before election day.
Beyer's loans, by the way, were guaranteed by a handful of Virginians, including Roanokers William and Stella Cranwell, Bittle Porterfield, and Granger MacFarlane.
