The bull market on Wall Street continues, though it's not quite as dramatic
as yesterday's surge.
Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan today gave his assessment of the
roller coaster markets.

A tractor trailer driver who struck and killed a bicyclist in Lynchburg last
spring pleaded guilty this morning to two traffic charges.
Thirty-six- year- old Dawn LaReau (luh-ROE) was killed as she was bicycling
along Route 501 on May second.
Authorities say 70- year- old James E. Hutcherson did not give LaReau enough
room as his tractor trailer passed her.

Jury deliberations have resumed in the trial of the British au pair accused
of killing the baby left in her care.
Yesterday, lawyers for 19- year- old Louise Woodward told jurors that
prosecutors had failed to prove she caused the fatal injuries to the boy.
The prosecution says it was a clear case of child abuse.

The man accused of spreading the AIDS virus in western New York faces
assault charges today.
Health officials say Nushawn Williams had at least 28 sex partners, and
infected at least six young women and teenage girls after learning he had the
Today's "New York Times" says the district attorney in Jamestown, New York,
plans to file first-degree assault charges in those six cases.
Williams is now jailed in New York City on an unrelated drug charge.
Massachusetts is one step closer to bringing the death penalty back.
Last night the state's House of Representatives passed a death penalty bill
following 12 hours of debate.
The measure now must be reconciled with a similar bill approved this month by
the state Senate.
