The verdict is in- the first phase of sentencing complete- in the case of
capital killer Earl Bramblett.

A Roanoke County jury has convicted the silk- screen printer on all
counts... including capital murder.
Keith Humphry has details in the Hodges murder case.
The jury had been at it for nearly two weeks- -not counting the jury
It took the jury less than three hours to convict... about 17 minutes to
pick the maximum sentence on the NON-capital offenses.
It was a circumstantial case.
But the prosecutor apparently tied up all the loose ends to the jury's

Bramblett had lived with the Hodges family.
The prosecutor believes Bramblett took time to take a shower and do his
laundry there before, he set the house on fire in three separate places.
But nobody lived to say they saw him do it.
It took three years to bring the case to court.

The defense maintains Walton took responsibility for his crimes and did not
deserve to die.
Judge James Ingram disagreed-- sentencing Walton to death, three life
sentences plus 28 years in prison for robbery and firearms charges.))
Throughout the first day of his sentencing Walton smirked, even laughed when
the murders were detailed.

Some of Kendricks' relatives say they traveled cross-country to find some
closure-- some said Amen when the death penalty was announced.
Life in prison for Louise Woodward-
the nanny convicted of murdering 8 month old Matthew Eappen.
A judge handed down the mandatory life term.
But before sentencing, Matthews parents spoke.
His mother talked about the day Matty died- five days after he was in the

A tractor-trailer slammed into a school bus this morning in Maryland.
The school bus driver was killed--30 children were hurt- none seriously.
The truck driver is charged with failing to yield the right of way and unsafe
