Virginia Tech police say 18-year old Melinda Marie Somers fell threw the window of her 8th floor dorm room in Slusher Hall.
The tallest building on campus is 25 years old and houses all women.
Somers bed was pushed up against the open window and police say she rolled over and fell 90 feet to the ground. Officials are doing an engineering review to check the safety of the windows and screens.
