The medical examiner says he knows what caused the death of football player

The death of the Pulaski County player during a game at Victory Stadium last
month was an accident.

not hard, not an unusual hit for a football game, but it stopped his heart.
Dr. David Oxley says the impact caused a condition called Commotio Cordis...
it interupted his heart's electical activity, and that was fatal.

Investigators are waiting for autopsy results in the death of a Virginia Tech
18-year old sophomore Melinda Marie Somers died after falling from the eighth
floor window of her dorm.

Police say Somers was asleep when she fell.
They say she may have been disoriented from drinking earlier that night.
This afternoon a memo was sent to all the students living in dorms not to
place there beds against windows.
Somers was thin-framed and about 5 foot 7-- which is why many are having
trouble understanding how she fit through such a small opening.))
Autopsy results are expected by the end of the week...

The capital sentencing phase began today in the case of Earl Bramblett.

Both sides put on evidence about Bramblett's past- the prosecution going
back to the mid-70s.
The defense called witnesses to describe his childhood.
Earl Bramblett was the youngest of five children, in a Texas family... so
poor the family of seven lived in a two -room house.
He managed to get an athletic scholarship to attend college, but never
Bramblett apparently got his peculiar paranoia from his mother- -who like
her son became an alcoholic.
The prosecution presented women who said Bramblett had molested them when
they were in the early teens.
One said he put a gun to her head and threatened to kill her if she
cooperated with authorities.
The sentencing hearing resumes Wednesday.
Tensions are rising again between the United States and Iraq-
Saddam Hussein is threatening to shoot down any United States airplane flying
over Iraqi airspace.
This comes after Iraq barred a U-S inspector from a weapons site today
against a United Nations agreement.
The U-S is now demanding that Iraq comply with the U-N and allow weapons
inspectors to do their job.

Looking at this M-R-I, a large white circle is easy to see, it's a
suspicious lump that did not show up on this woman's mammogram.

Cedar Sinai's new branch "Picture Your Health" can easily be mistaken for

Prince Harry's been treated to quite an array of entertainment over the past
