Don Beyer arrived at election day as a definite underdog.
But this morning he cast his vote, challenged Jim Gilmore's plan to
eliminate the car tax, and expressed confidence the polls will be proven wrong.

Joe Dashiell was up early to catch Beyer voting, and tonight he's at the
Jefferson Hotel in Richmond where the Democrats are gathering.

may have caused many people to write off Don Beyer's campaign, but Beyer
wasn't conceding anything this morning.

independents and undecideds he was still hoping to sway.
Arriving at Alexandria city hall, to blue skies and bright lights, Beyer
said he was encouraged by the good weather, and the number of voters still
making up their minds.

If the House of Delegates picks up just a handful of Republicans, it could

If John Hager wins as Lieutenant Governor, it would tip the state senate

Voters can still cast their ballots until seven tonight.

Tonight we'll know if Roanoke citizens want status quo-- by choosing city

But overall, citizens don't seem too interested in the races.
At three this afternoon the Roanoke registrar reported 36 percent of the
voters had hit the polls.
In Roanoke County about 40-percent had pulled the levers.
