Officials say the private aircraft took off Sunday from Roanoke, heading for Missouri, but never made it.
The search for the plane and its pilot has been concentrated in Giles County and western Craig County.

The medical examiner says Cook was the victim of a rare conditions that has been linked to young athletes.

Voter's accross the Commonwealth head to the polls this morning for election '97.
Voters will choose a new Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General.
There are a number of seats in the Virginia House of delegates up for election, as well as more local positions.
In Roanoke and Martinsville voters will choose if they want to allow an off track betting parlor in their area.
How Roanoke City Council members will be chosen in future elections will be up to today's voters.
The polls will be open until seven this evening.

Virginia Tech police say 18- year- old Melinda Marie Somers fell through the window of her eighth floor dorm room in Slusher Hall.

The tallest building on campus is 25- years- old and houses all women.
Somers bed was pushed up against the open window and police say she rolled over and fell 90 feet to the ground where a newspaper carrier found her dead the next morning.
