America's military leaders have canceled foreign trips as the dispute with
Iraq over weapons inspections continues.
Danville's Goodyear plant will not get new jobs, money or machines.
The company says it cannot make enough tires at the plant, since union
members refuse to work on Sunday.
So it's investing 15-million dollars in the Topeka Kansas plant instead --
where employees WILL work around the clock.
The Danville plant -- which offers the city's highest pay rate -- is no
longer hiring --
It's also shipping tire machines to more productive plants.

Some Danville employees say they expect layoffs -- but managers will not
Congressman Rick Boucher is urging state and federal officials to study
A-E-P's request to build a high voltage power line in Southwest Virginia.
Boucher wants the State Corporation Commission and U-S Forest Service to
determine if the NEED exists.
The Democrat is also asking the two agencies to research alternatives to
building a 765- kilovolt line.
American Electric Power says a high voltage line is needed to meet the
growing demand for electricity.
Boucher suggests a number of his own alternatives-- including the potential
for A-E-P to purchase needed power from neighboring utilities.

But, two years after a wrenching separation he is still trying to get
