Virginia four years ago has gotten the death penalty.
The decision comes days after four American businessmen were shot to death
in Pakistan--reportedly in retaliation for the conviction.

At least 15 people were hurt, suffering cuts, bruises, and broken bones.

A car crash early this morning in Amherst County killed two people.
The victims are 41-year old Leonard Irvin of Madison Heights and 37-year old
Marie Randolph of Lynchburg.
Police say the driver of one of the vehicles lost control, veering into
oncoming traffic along Old Wright Shop Road.
The accident is still under investigation.

Reviews of the Richmond International Airport are no longer up in the air.

A report listed the airport among the worst in the country last year for
"close calls."
The study considered a close call to be an airplane, person or vehicle
interfering with a plane's take off or landing.
The Federal Aviation Administration claimed Richmond International had five
close calls last year, but says it still considers the airport safe.
Other cities with the worst distinction include Cleveland, Ohio and Long
Beach, California. Chicago had the fewest close calls.

A mistake during practice has put Points leader Jeff Gordon at the back of
the pack for tomorrow's NAPA 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Gordon was warming up his tires as he picked up speed on Pit road lost
control and slide into the stopped car of Bobby Hamilton. Both driver had to
switch to back up cars and Gordon will start 37-th. He needs an 18-th place
finish to clinch the title.
Geoff Bodine will start on the pole with a record speed of 197 point 478
miles per hour.
And Dale Jarrett, who is second in the points race will start third. Now
here's the rest of the top 25.

Theories range from "space junk" that seemed like fireballs flying through
the air to remnants of an SL-4 rocket body disintegrating in the atmosphere.
Whatever it was, the National Weather Service in Spokane, Wash., says it landed
safely off the coast of Washington, in the Pacific Ocean.
