The parent company, Columbia H-C-A, announced today that in an effort to create smaller, more independent operating units, the medical giant may sell as many as 100 hospitals.
The staff at Lewis Gale expects to find out sometime this week how the Salem hospital might be impacted.
For the past few months federal investigators have been looking into whether Columbia was involved in Medicaid and Nedicare fraud, but that investigation has NOT involved Lewis Gale.

The altercation started last night when Morris' wife accused the woman of having an affair with the running back.
Morris allegedly grabbed April Brittain by the arms and throat and tried to choke her.
Morris missed the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. That's led to a hearing next week in Texas for violating his parole.
