viewers from Christiansburg. "Of course anyone who had been following polling
information probably knew this. Still, most of us--unlike Prof. Sabato--do not

over, a few people probably decided not to vote. These few votes would not have
changed the election. But the Virginia political system could hardly be hurt by
more people participating. In the future I hope that you will refrain from
announcing that the election is over until everyone has at least had the chance

demonstration by retired Westvaco workers in Richmond.

On the other hand, more than half of those with a college education and
earning more than 50-thousand dollars showed up at the polls.
The wealthier the voter the more likely they voted Republican say some

They also claim that the dismal voter turnout among those of lower income
and less education helped the Republican party win all three of the top state
offices.

Classic brought more than 254 teams into the Roanoke Valley.
Some came from as far away as Michigan, Indiana, and Alabama.
Bank sponsors say tournaments like these make a big economic impact.
The Roanoke Valley Youth Soccer Club sponsors several each year which they
say attract nearly 100-thousand visitors to the area.
And this weekend's tournament is expected to raise about three million
dollars.
