The middle school's grounds and facilities will get a massive facelift, including a new library-media center and courtyard.
But some parents were more concerned with the future of the schools touted Challenge Program.
One was worried that in the shuffle, her daughter's education might be compromised, but she has since been reassured.

Charter schools and private school vouchers are the most discussed options.
Last year, a charter schools bill died on a tie vote in a House committee, and the proposal is expected to be back next year.
Charter schools receive public funds.
Although they 're allowed to try unconventional teaching methods, they still face high student performance standards.

City Council voted 4 to 3 to wait until the Mill Mountain Advisory Committee makes a location recommendation before giving final approval for a sculpture garden.
