A World War Two veteran used a flashback as his defense in a murder trial.

Jurors found Richard Keech guilty of first degree murder in the shooting
death of his son-in-law
Keech shot 47 year old Nicholas Candy last year, then chased him down and
shot him four more times.
Keech says he had flashed back to his POW days and thought he was shooting
at a Japanese prison guard.
Prosecutors said the 77 year old made up the story and intentionally shot
Candy.
Keech faces 35 years to life in prison.
