A man was struck by a car then dragged for miles underneath it, in an
accident yesterday morning in Lynchburg.
Authorities say 30- year old Louis Slaughter, Junior was struck while
walking across fifth street around one A-M.
The driver of the car did NOT stop.
Police say Slaughter was dragged underneath the car for nearly four miles.
He was taken to Lynchburg hospital where he later died.
28- year old Melvin Stevens of Lynchburg was taken into custody.
Police found his car in Bedford County with damage to the underside.

An ill- fated Thanksgiving flight in Nevada ended in the deaths of four
people.

The two men and two women on board were all killed in the crash.
Although several witnesses saw the crash and a fire station was nearby,
the fireball and intense heat kept anyone from rescuing the victims.

clues to the cause of the crash.
