Officials are setting up sobriety checkpoints to curb holiday drunk driving.

Authorities set up one checkpoint in Vinton last Friday night.
Officers look for tell-tale signs of a drunk driver such as not maintaining eye contact, or slurred speech patterns.
If an officer suspects the driver to be drunk, a series of simple coordination tests are done.
But for those drivers who DO chose to drive while under the influence, authorities say they are on the lookout.
