Since the Blue Bird company pulled out of town five years ago, a 930 foot long facility has sat vacant in Buena Vista.
Virginia's 19-97 entrepreneur of the year wanted to move in-- but the price was too high.
So the three counties joined forces to purchase the extra land for a future industrial park.

Governor Allen chose a 33 foot eastern red cedar for this year's Christmas tree.

And, unlike last year, state capitol groundskeepers did NOT chop down Virginia's "holiday tree" from the scenic capitol grounds.
Governor George Allen and family did the honors on this year's tree -- which was plucked instead from a state juvenile correctional facility.
We're told the juvenile inmates helped transport the tree.
