Since the jackal is a master of disguise an FBI agent, Sidney Poitier and a Russian Major played by Diane Venora are forced by circumstances to enlist the help of an IRA terrorist, Richard Gere, who is the only person alive to ever see the jackal's face.
The first part of the movie is intriguing, but when it becomes a contest between Willis and Gere, the movie moves along predictable lines. "The Jackal" gets a B-, It works only as long as the viewer can suspend disbelief and logic.))
