last night--leaving one victim in serious condition.
Investigators believe the incident was pay back for an earlier shooting.
The two victims of that shooting are in fair condition.

The annual Christmas parade in Paducah, Kentucky was a somber event.

The town is still mourning the death of three Heath High School students,
gunned down by a fellow student earlier this week.
The Heath High School band marched in the parade without instruments, each
carrying a single white rose in honor of the three who were killed, and five
other victims wounded.
Some of the victims were band members, the teen charged in the shootings, 14
year old Michael Carneal, was also a member of the band.

A massive Russian military transport plane plowed into a five story
apartment building.
Flaming wreckage rained down around the scene, forcing the evacuation of
neighboring buildings.
Everyone on board the plane was killed, but officials aren't sure about the
number.
200 people lived in the building that was hit, and many may still be buried
in the rubble.
200 rescue workers are on scene trying to help.

anti-religious slogans, and satanic symbols Thursday.
Five teenagers are suspected of the crimes.

The Gogginsville United Methodist Church had about 30-thousand dollars in
damages after three boys and two girls spray painted it.
The five, ranging between 14- and 17- years of age, also destroyed
furniture, smashed lights and windows and turned over the church's Christmas
Tree.
Investigators suspect the teens also spray-painted another church, two
dumpsters and a highway bridge with similar markings.
All five have confessed and have been charged with destruction of
property.

A drug bust in Franklin County and one in Floyd County sent a total of 30
people to jail earlier today.
In both cases, sheriff's departments had been investigating drug activity
for more than a year--using surveillance operations and undercover buys to get
evidence.
Charges include possession and distribution of crack cocaine,
methamphetamine and marijuana.

Five vacant buildings were destroyed by arson and the Bedford County
Sheriff's Department believes the crimes are related.
It started around 3:30 this morning.
Two fires destroyed a couple of vacant homes--one in Forest, the other in
the Big Island-Coleman Falls section of the county.
Fires were also reported near Sadalia (SA-dale-ya) and at 11 this morning
again in Forest.
No one was injured but investigators say this rash of fires is similar to
ones which occurred around the same time last year.

than 500 accidents...and is suspected of causing a number of traffic-related
deaths.
Usually dry storm channels were turned into rushing rivers...sweeping away
several cars.
There was a rude awakening at around four o'clock Saturday morning...when
lightening and thunder shattered windows at a West Los Angeles apartment
building...sending sleepy residents running into the street.
