and nearly 17 months later the national transportation safety board still does
not know why. this week long public hearing in baltimore, a review of the
mountain of facts and figures but there will be not revelations
the ntsb did release new animation retracing the last few moments of twa
flight 800..minutes after takeoff from new york;s kennedy international
airport july 17 1996.
a transcript of the cockpit voice recorder shows the pilots were in control,
all systems go. but nearly 13 minutes after takeoff the center wing fuel tank
exploded. all 230 people on board were killed.
the fbi has ruled out a missile or bomb...so now investigators will focus on
the theory the explosion in the center fule tank, may have been sparked by a
surge of high voltage electricty, which was transferred thru damaged low
voltage wiring in the tank's fuel measuring rods.

The Danville Regional Medical Center is NOT planning to heighten security
after a weekend shooting in the emergency room.
Police say 24-year old Derrick Coles shot 21-year old Darrell Bradner in the
hospital waiting area Friday night.
An unarmed security guard was manning the waiting area.

There's been no resolution of the Danville Fire Department's attempt to
seize NEWS 7's videotape of the Cabin Lake apartment fire.
A hearing today before a Judge in Danville ended without a ruling.
The fire marshal arrived at NEWS-7's Danville Newsroom Friday, armed with a
"Fire Inspection Warrant," typically used to gain access to a fire scene.
Fire officials returned the newstape the same day, pending the outcome of
The judge heard arguments this morning from the city attorney and an
attorney for W-D-B-J, but Judge James Ingram did not make a decision.
She gained international fame after severing her husband's penis in 1994--
Today she was arraigned on charges she assaulted her mother.
Lorena Gallo --formerly Lorena Bobbitt-- will be tried in April for
allegedly hitting her mother Friday while inside their Manassas home.
Gallo appeared in court this morning with her parents.
Neighbors told police, Lorena's mother, 49-year old Elvia Gallo, was watching
television when her daughter hit her with her fist.
The police report said that Lorena's brother, intervened to stop the

In the 1994 trial, Gallo was found not guilty by reason of temporary
insanity on charges of malicious and unlawful wounding of her then-husband,
John Wayne Bobbitt.

The Clinton administration is getting low marks from the White House advisory
panel on AIDS.
Its latest progress report -- critiques the president's second term...citing
the president's failure to "lay out a coherent plan of action" to prevent
Experts are specifically critical of the federal funding ban on
needle-exchange programs and the failure to expand Medicaid to cover expenses
of low-income patients.
The panel gave Clinton's first term high marks for efforts to fight AIDS.
Health insurance is not just a problem for the unemployed.
Several studies this year show that children without insurance generally
live in families where at least one parent works.

causing worldwide concern.

In domestic poultry it can cause lethal avian influenza, or fowl plague.
Back in the U-S-- do you feed a cold and starve a fever?
Don't bother. That according to the American Lung Association.
It says it doesn't make any difference.
New guidelines developed by a team of medical experts recommend taking
acetaminophen for treating the fever of colds and the flu, since it doesn't
upset the stomach.
The American Lung Association suggests avoiding close contact with people who
have a cold.
Wash your hands frequently and avoid rubbing your eyes and nose.
Many experts agree the best way to prevent getting the flu is with the flu
