A Moneta man has allegedly been sending threatening letters to Chelsea
Clinton, the President's daughter.
Three times in August and again in October, according to today's grand jury
indictment, 55-year old Samuel Edmond Coffey mailed a threat to commit certain
sex acts on the Stanford freshman.
Instead of mailing them directly to the White House, Coffey is accused of
sending the letters to Virginia Beach, asking the Postmaster to mail them to
Chelsea for him from there.
Goodyear union members in Danville say they do want to vote again on the
company's request for mandatory Sunday shifts.
Last month the union rejected a seven- day schedule, claiming workers would
lose current overtime pay on Sundays.
Goodyear then laid off 60 people, moved tire machines to Mexico, and
invested millions of dollars in other plants.

A special prosecutor will decide whether embezzlement charges should be
lodged against one of Bedford County's top law enforcement officers.
State police are looking into whether Lieutenant John McCane misused public
Botetourt prosecutor Joel Branscom would not discuss details, but called it
"strange behavior" on McCane's part, although he's not sure whether any laws
Branscom says the amount of money involved is less than a thousand dollars.
McCane was already on administrative leave after being charged in October
with stalking a friend of his estranged wife.
Bedford County sheriff Mike Brown, McCane's brother- in- law, could not be
reached for comment.
One of the primary defendants in the racketeering and arson case against
the Abed family has been accused of trying to pay someone to create an alibi
Rod Abed was arraigned this afternoon on the new indictment.
The 26-year old defendant is charged with obstruction of justice.

Authorities believe that the fire at the Corner Store on 13th Street was
intended to eliminate competition to the Speedway store across the street.
The indictment says Abed offered money to Phillip Orren.
Orren is serving a six-year sentence for ARSON himself, and was recently
moved from the city jail where Abed is being housed.

A potential budget windfall for two Bedford County tourist attractions.
Governor George Allen today announced his final budget will include two
