((PROSECUTOR: WE FEEL GOOD ABOUT OUR CASE, SURE. Prosecutors came to court this morning with what attorney Beth Wilkinson called "an avalanche of evidence against Terry Nichols." In her closing statement she outlined the government's case, calling it "the road to destruction". It began in the fall of 1994, when Nichols bought 2000 pounds of amonium nitrate. On various dates along the road Nichols and Timothy Mcveigh obtained different ingredients for the bomb and Nichols robbed an Arkansas amunitions dealer to finance the operation. With the ingredients and the valuables hidden in storage lockers, Nichols and Mcveigh waited.. Until Easter Sunday, three days before the bombing, when they stashed the getaway car in Oklahoma City. then, the day before the blast, at this kansas lake, together they built the bomb.
Defense Attorney Michael Tigar began with a request for the jury "let me start with a clean page". as his client's parents, siblings and wife Marife watched, Tigar attacked the prosecution's evidence. He called FBI lab tests flawed and harped on the fact that the prosecution's star snitch Michael Fortier is a drug user.))

Today, the Michigan auto parts magnate is a very good friend of the Republican National Committee.
The RNC and its committees gave more than 2-point-1 million dollars to Jim Gilmore.
It gave almost 200- thousand to the Republican Party of Virginia -- which helped Gilmore big time.
Individual donors give money to the RNC -- in the sunroof guy's case, more than 180- thousand dollars in the last four years.
And then the Gilmore campaign hits up those national donors individually.
So on election day, when Gilmore didn't even need his help, Heinz Prechter gave five thousand dollars directly to Gilmore.
It's all legal.
It probably won't buy the sunroof guy any influence in Virginia.
