The gunman is holding the children inside a daycare center in Suburban
Dallas, Texas.
Police say they're negotiating with the man and are making progess.
But police say the gunman was spooked when he saw live television pictures
of authorities moving outside the building this morning.

((You could almost feel this child's mother holding her breathas her little
girl was whisked to safety by policeand finally placed in her arms. She had
been waiting all night.
The armed standoff began Wednesday afternoonwhen police say that James
Lipscomb, Jr. showed up with a gun at the Rigsby Child Development Center. He
had allegedly just tried to rob someone outside a local bank in this Dallas
suburb. Police cordoned off the area quickly and started negotiations.
At one point, some 60 children and adults were being held captive. But by
this afternoon, most were releasedexcept for two children, who relatives say
are Lipscomb's own child and step-child.
The suspects brother claimed he was frustrated that police wouldn't let him
intervene.

Negotiations broke down during the day, when the suspect apparently didn't
like the police presence he was seeing on live television.
When talks resumed, police said Lipscomb was not as friendly.
His sister-in-law is also worried.

21-year old Chad Justin (knee-me) Niemi was released from jail this
afternoon.
He was arrested Tuesday morning after the Kappa Alpha house near the
Blacksburg campus was gutted by fire.

Niemi's bond was originally set at 15-thousand dollars but was later revoked
because he allegedly lied to a magistrate.
Prosecutors say Niemi failed to mention prior convictions for drunk in
public and possession of marijuana.
Conditions for Niemi's bond include abstaining from alcohol, checking in
with Blacksburg police daily and staying in Virginia.

apparently was staying.
He was a cast member on Saturday Night Live- for four seasons.

No word on the cause of Farley's death. Chris Farley was 33-years old.
