Theodore Richard Jones Junior allegedly engaged in a sexual act with the teenager and made four other sexual propositions-- all between 19-91 and 19-94.

Former colleagues say Jones helped organize business partnerships and volunteer programs at the school.

It's only three months old, so expectations are still high.
Local business leaders went over the head of the local school board and got a charter from the state to start their own school with their own rules.

A hostage standoff at a Texas daycare center continues this morning.
It began yesterday when a gunman entered the facility after an attempted robbery nearby.
The gunman has released some 60 children, but is still holding several hostages.

Governor Allen's budget for the next two years would keep a tuition freeze and includes money for pay raises for professors.
Allen will present his budget plan to the General Assembly tomorrow.

Friends of a Carroll County woman were in her driveway when they heard what might have been the shot that took her life.

They'd been visiting 35- year- old Mary Ruth Hiatt, but left just before five-p-m Tuesday when Hiatt and her live-in boyfriend began fighting.
When authorities arrived, they found Hiatt and 51- year- old Fredrick Ray Edwards dead in the front yard.
Family members say Edwards had been depressed and drinking- -but appeared in good spirits just a couple of days before.

Firefighters had no chance to save 73- year- old Barbara Stieglitz
(STIH-glitz) from her burning home in the Lake Vista subdivision.


Stieglitz was found in a first floor room, just a few feet from the front door.
Authorities believe she may have been trying to unlock the deadbolt on the door when she was overcome by smoke.
Authorities say the fire started near a loveseat in the rear living room, but don't know what might have caused it.
They HAVE ruled out the fireplace and Christmas tree as possible ignition sources.
