The company that supplies electricity to the majority of Southwest Virginia
is merging with a Texas utility.

Several weeks ago, a Bedford County deputy posing as a woman met Adams in an
America Online chatroom, and after exchanging e-mail, reportedly arranged to
buy some marijuana from him.
In this message, the deputy told Adams she and her friend "Dawn" wanted to
buy some pot to -quote- "carry home with us.. I have not gotten really wasted
in a long time".
The deputy went on to write: ".. don't smoke it all before we get there..
we'll be there around midnight, ready to party".
But instead of a party, it was a police SWAT team that burst in on Adams
instead.
