No one was injured in the rock slide-- and there weren't any backups at the detour.
Crews will spend the next few days assessing the scene, to see if any increased safety measures are necessary.
This isn't the first time a rock slide has caused problems on Fancy Gap Mountain.
In 19-89, a slide just a half mile away closed the road for two MONTHS.

A second officer was wounded.

State Senator Richard J- Holland of Windsor and his son were indicted in September on charges of conspiring to defraud -- misapplying bank funds -- perjury and other charges.
Next month their attorneys head to court to learn who might testify against the two bankers next April.
Holland, chairman of Farmers Bank of Windsor, and his son Richard Junior, president and chief executive of the bank, both pleaded innocent.
If convicted, they could face millions in fines and stiff prison sentences.
