If you stayed indoors to get away from all the white stuff you may have felt the effects of the weather anyway. Power outages hit parts of Southwest Roanoke County for a couple of hours from about nine to 10-30 this morning.
If you were driving around you may have noticed more than a few fender benders.

Federal mediators met with both sides yesterday. It took more than nine hours of negotiating to reach the agreement, but the 28-striking workers will be back on the job by the first of the week.

For the first time since 1960 there's a tie for the Associated Press N-F-L Player of the year.

For the past two years the award has gone to Green Bay's Brett Favre. This season Favre passed for 35 touchdowns and was second in passing yards and he shares the award with Detroit's Barry Sanders.
Sanders gained 2-thousand 867 yards the second highest season total in N-F-L history and he led the Lions to the playoffs this season. The two received 18 votes each in the balloting for the award.

the Vikings rallied to beat the New York Giants 23 to 22 knocking The Giants out of the N-F-L playoffs.

He had to like this Danny Kanell throws a bullet over the middle hitting Aaron Pierce on the 2 yard touchdown pass giving the Giants a 13 to nothing lead in the second quarter.
But the Vikings started the comeback in the third. After a Giant fumble Leroy Hoard scores on the 4 yard touchdown run to make it 19 to 10 New York.
Minnesota cut it to a two point lead in the fourth quarter when Randal

Cunningham goes to the air and hits Jake Reed on the 30 yard touchdown pass to make it 22 to 20 Giants.
The Vikings pulled off the onside SUPER=30-Minnesota/23/N.Y.

Giants/22/;kick setting up this Eddie Murray 24 yard field goal with 10 seconds left on the clock and the Vikings beat the Giants 23 to 22.
