In other news tonight-- it took three tries, but Bedford County authorities
finally were able to nab a man who escaped from them TWICE in two hours.
Early this morning, Bedford city police attempted to arrest 18- year- old
Richard Howard Busby at his Short Street apartment.
Busby broke away from the officers, but a tracking dog helped find him and
take him into custody.
But when Busby was being booked at the sheriff's department, he took off

Police arrested Busby around 10 a-m at his mother's home in Bedford.
He's charged with malicious wounding and felonious escape.
In South Boston-- police say a man shot and killed himself after shooting at
police and setting his apartment on fire.
Early this morning police responded to a report of gunfire at Tanglewylde
Officers say gunfire continued when they arrived, hitting three police
The officers did NOT return fire, but finally had to act when they saw
smoke coming out of the apartment.

As firefighters extinguished the fire, one of the police officers found the
suspect, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
His name has not been released

But first-- what happened aboard a United Airlines flight that was hit by
major turbulence-- killing one person and injuring dozens.

A new law in one state has some smokers fuming. That report and the Two Minute

United Airlines says the seat belt sign was ON when severe turbulence struck
a jumbo jetliner over the Pacific Ocean.
Passengers on the Japan-to-Hawaii flight report the sign was off.
Sudden turbulence hit flight 8-2-6 sending it plunging one-thousand feet
towards the ocean late last night.
One woman was killed and 102 passengers were injured.
The plane returned immediately to Tokyo following the incident.
Passengers say the turbulence was so violent it sent unbuckled people flying
headfirst into the top of the plane.
Japan Airlines said nine of its flights passed the same area around the
same time but none experienced turbulence.
The National Transportation Safety Board in Washington, D.C. is conducting an

Up to four inches of the white stuff fell throughout Tennessee-- more snow
