People in Maysville Kentucky were forced out of their homes by an early
morning fire at a fertilizer factory.

Emergency workers evacuated about 25-hundred people who live nearby.
The plant has stockpiles of herbicides and pesticides, along with 420 tons
of ammonium nitrate, one of the chemicals used in the bomb that blew up the
Oklahoma City federal building.

Police say it started when an 18-wheeler came out of a tunnel and hit a
concrete barrier.
Trucks kept coming out of the tunnel and getting tangled up in the wreck,

Three people were hurt, but there were no life-threatening injuries.

That's what Governor George Allen says.
He hung a banner on the capital building, celebrating the region's virtues

An economist with First Union says 19-98 will be a booming year for
Virginia's economy.
Mark Vitner says the state will add nearly 80-thousand jobs.
As for the stock market, local analysts have different opinions about where
it's going, but most agree the market will not continue to grow as fast as it
has in recent years.

It appears that the Buffalo Bills will go within the organization to name a
new head coach to replace Marv Levy.

Reports in Buffalo today say Wade Phillips accepted the job yesterday during
a phone conversation with owner Ralph Wilson.
Phillips has been the Bills Defensive coordinator the past three seasons.
He was a head coach at Denver during the 1993-94 season and left with a 16
and 17 record.

In Buchanan County traffic may be moving slowly tomorrow along Route 4-60 as
crews work to widen the lanes there.

And, the same is true for Route 58 in Grayson County. The speed limit is
reduced to 45 miles per hour and work crews will be directing traffic.
Though it isn't likely that snow will slow down your commute, state police
warn there may be a "thawing effect"--where streams of water from melted snow
freeze overnight becoming icy patches in the morning.

Sea World rescue teams tried to save five Pilot Whales that came ashore on
the Florida Space Coast today--

but it was too late for three of the mammals.
A marine biologist said the leader of the whales was sick and guided the
group to the beach.
The two survivors of the ordeal are recuperating at "Marine World" near St.
Augustine.
