The trial of a couple accused of torturing and killing a young girl in Dickenson County is scheduled to open today in Montgomery County.
Elizabeth and Kenneth Jessie are charged with the murder of four- year- old Annie Leftwich last May.
Both the 19- year- old mother and 30- year- old stepfather blame each other for her death.
The trial was moved because of a fear pretrial publicity would made it difficult to seat an impartial jury in Dickenson County.

The state Board of Education is set to take up an overhaul of teacher licensing requirements later this week.
The changes are intended to complement the state's tougher new Standards of Learning.
But they also have drawn criticism for a move to streamline endorsements for special education teachers.
Critics say the changes don't take into account that learning disabilities, emotional disturbance and mental retardation are different and require specific training.
