A Dickenson County murder trial is set to open today in Montgomery County.
Elizabeth and Kenneth Jessie are charged with torturing and killing
a four year old girl.
Annie Leftwich's body was found in the couple's trailer last May.
Both the 19 year old mother and
30 year old stepfather blame each other for the child's death.
The trial was moved after the judge in the case ruled that pretrial
publicity made it difficult to seat an impartial jury in Dickenson County.

Later this week the Board of Education is set to take the next step to
complement Virginia's tougher new
Standards of Learning.
The Board will take up an overhaul of teacher licensing requirements.
The changes have drawn criticism for a move to streamline endorsements for
special education teachers.
Critics say the changes don't take into account that learning disabilities,
emotional disturbance and mental retardation are different and require specific
training.
