IN ADDRESSING THE JURORS THIS MORNING, JUDGE RICHARD MATSCH ACKNOWLEDGE A SERIES OF THREE NOTES HE RECEIVED FROM THEM.
MATSCH SAID THE NOTES REVEALED NOT ALL THE JURORS HAD BEEN CONVINCED THE GOVERNMENT HAD PROVED BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT THAT TERRY NICHOLS INTENDED TO KILL PEOPLE BY TAKING PART IN THE BOMBING CONSPIRACY. THE JUDGE SAID HE'D MET WITH NICHOLS AND THE LAWYERS AND THEY ALL AGREED THAT THE JUDGE SHOULD DECIDE THE SENTENCE. EXECUTION IS NOW NO LONGER A POSSIBILITY, BUT LIFE IN PRISON IS.
JUDGE MATSCH THANKED THE JURORS AND SENT THEM HOME.

The U-V-a women's team faced some off the court adversity yesterday as player Lauren Swierzcek (SWAIR-ZEK) was found guilty of two counts of petty larceny.
Swairzek admitted that she stole clothing from two stores at Fashion Square Mall in Albemarle County.
Head Coach Debbie Ryan testified on her player's behalf as a character witness, but the judge gave her a 30 day suspended term on each count.
Ryan says she hasn't decided if Swierzcek has a future with the team.
