Just like students, schools in the Commonwealth will now receive marks on their performance.
The State Board of Education yesterday adopted a plan to send parents report cards on individual public schools.
Parents will get the numbers to compare how their children's learning environment measures up.
The reports are another part of outgoing Governor George Allen's campaign to raise school standards and increase accountability to parents.
The reports are expected to start going to parents in early fall.
