The House must still adopt rules -- when they reconvene we'll hear a
proposal by Salem Republican Morgan Griffith to at least have proportional
representation on committees for the first time.

More poeple in the garment industry are losing their jobs.
The most recent round of layoffs is at Tultex.
The Martinsville plant will not say how many workers have been fired.
But the activewear maker will say the number is "not significant."
The plant employs 25-hundred people.
This news comes just one week after Tultex announced it is closing its
Chilhowie sewing facility.
That plant employed 141-people.
Tultex said there's a shrinking demand for its products.
The United Nations Security Council
is condeming Iraq for blocking U-N Arms inspectors.

Police in Delaware don't yet know if a body found washed up a beach is that
of a missing Lynchburg man.

22 year old Mark Domaleski was in Delaware volunteering with the Americorps
His wallet and belongings were found in his cabin shortly after he
disappeared November 29th.
During a search of the area authorities found a kayak in a nearby bay--they
think it's possible Domaleski may have drowned.
Authorities are now waiting for a medical examiner to positively identify
the partially decomposed body found on the beach--but they acknowledge the
remains were found near where Domaleski disappeared.

up--in some instances almost 60 percent compared with this time last year.
