The President has not said a public word about the controversy since late last
But this morning, at a White House event on the subject of education and child

It seemed unequivocal.
And all of this set against the looming political backdrop of tomorrow's State
of the Union address...and whether or not it will be overshadowed by the
allegations that Clinton had an affair with former White House intern, Monica

A federal grand jury is expected to begin hearing testimony on all this
tomorrow. As of this morning, Lewinsky had yet to cut a deal with independent
counsel, Kenneth Starr...for immunity from prosecution.
BITE 09:01 (WILLIAM GINSBURG/LEWINSKY'S ATTORNEY): HE KNOWS THAT I WANT
ESSENTIALLY FULL IMMUNITY...HE KNOWS THAT I WANT AND WILL ACCEPT NOTHING LESS
THAN A PROMISE NOT TO PROSECUTE.

Iraq is reacting to reports that the U-S may be planning a military
The ruling party's newspaper says Baghdad is mobilizing millions of Iraqis
in preparation for a possible military confrontation with the U-S.
Over the weekend, Washington aides said the Clinton adminstration was

Senator Chuck Robb is advising against extra spending.
Robb was in Roanoke last week to meet with members of the Regional Chamber

reducing that debt should be the number one priority.
