The snow is now turning into rain but it's still proving to be treacherous
for motorists.

((V-DOT officials in the New River Valley say ALL roads-- including
Interstate 81-- are slick and snow covered. Wintery slushy conditions are
wrecking havoc in Carroll and Patrick Counties where highways and roads are
also difficult to drive on.
Radford University cancelled classes at 3 o'clock today, but the snow has
not had a negative effect on everyone.
Students took advantage of the weather break to relieve a little stress
through a creative process.
It's no easier driving in the Roanoke area.
And while the Roanoke Regional Airport is still open, poor visibility has
some airlines reporting flight delays and cancellations. Travelers are urged to
verify whether their flights are still going out and at what time before going
to the airport.
V-DOT officials say they are working on clearing highways and primary roads
--scraping and applying chemicals-- before moving on to secondary streets.
Motorists are cautioned not to come out if they can avoid it and if thery
must drive to allow extra time to get where they are going.))

The question now is whether VDOT can keep up with the snow.
At this point the Aerosmith concert scheduled for here at the Civic Center
is still on.
But there's the question of whether the opening act, The Kenny Wayne
Shepherd Band, will make it in from Charlottlesville. The group is travelling
by bus from UVA and is expected in Roanoke at any time.

A school bus was involved in a three vehicle accident in Botetourt County
this afternoon.

The roads near Troutville were covered by snow and slush at the time of the
crash.
The school bus was carrying four disabled pre-schoolers --
The transportation director says the bus slid through a ditch, down an icy
hill and into a car and truck that had already collided.
No one from the bus was hurt but a woman from another vehicle was taken to
the hospital.

and making arrangements to launder more than a million dollars in currency from
the Cali Cartel.

But today, defense attornies questioned the credibility of Javier Cruz and
another key prosecution witness.
They described them as drug dealers and con men, desperate to avoid
spending the rest of their lives in prison.

Barnette guilty on all counts.
The jury took three hours to convict him of killing his ex-girlfriend in
Roanoke, and a man in Charlotte.

Prosecutors said he killed her after murdering a man at the Charlotte
airport and stealing his car.
Barnette showed no reaction as the verdict was read.

Slag is the glass residue left over from smelting of metallic ores.
The Titanic was held together by some 3 million rivets- securing steel beams

Scientists theorize the rivets popped and allowed the plates to separate and
let in the water.
The titanic sank off the coast of NEW Foundland killing 15 hundred people.

exposed to the disease through contact with an Amherst County farm family's
puppy.

Henson has remained silent since the dismissal, privately looking into ways
