At a news conference late this afternoon, Commonwealth's Attorney Bill Petty said there is NO indication that any local children are involved.

A single car accident in Campbell County killed one person this afternoon and seriously injured a second.

The car was heading north on Route 501 between Brookneal and Gladys. Witnesses estimate the car was travelling about 100 miles an hour when it crashed into a tree.

One woman is dead following a three car-wreck in Christiansburg at 6 tonight along Roanoke Street.
Rescue workers took 66 year old Lila B. Lester to Montgomery Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver, Cletus Lester Junior is in stable condition.
There's no word on other injuries and police are still investigating.

The center was evacuated as state and Roanoke County police searched it with a bomb sniffing dog.
Nothing was found.
After a few hours, workers were allowed back in the building.

King, making his debut on the Senior Tour, shot a first round 4 over par 75 in today's round.

Darren Daulton picked up a World Series ring with the Florida Marlins this season.

And today just month's after helping the Marlins win the title Daulton is ending his career.
The 35 year old Daulton announced his retirement this afternoon. After spending most of his career in Philadelphia he played the last half of the 1997 season with Florida and is credited with providing the leadership that led the team to the championship.

To celebrate the release of the movie Hercules on video, a champion power lifter tried to hoist the nearly two hundred pound hero.

On his second attempt to lift the hero, he dropped it.
Disappointed partiers had to eat the sandwich off the floor.
