Pamela Cruz told how she and her husband had bought a farm in Floyd- -a decade ago.
She said they moved here from New York to escape death threats from rival drug dealers.
Once Cruz was arrested in Miami- -in 1991- -Pam Cruz agreed to be wired by the I-R-S and talk with realtor Earl Frith.
She eventually gave him 40-thousand dollars in cash- -money she told HIM was drug proceeds.
On the tape Frith is heard talking about how he could avoid currency transaction reporting requirements.
He's on trial for money laundering.
The jury also heard from Shannon Wilson.
Barely 18 when she met Cruz in 1990, Wilson told how she accompanied the Columbian drug smuggler on trips to Phoenix, L-A, Miami, and New York.
She lived in the "stash house" on Whistler Drive in Roanoke County.
It served as a way-station for hundreds of kilos of cocaine on its way to New York.

Wilson admitted it was the money that seduced her and other young women in the Roanoke area to help Cruz transport cocaine and cash.
On one trip Wilson took with Cruz and two other women - -she said Cruz dumped out a million dollars in a motel room.
Wilson described a night of drug use and group sex while literally rolling in money on the bed.
