The House Finance Committee scheduled the meeting to consider Governor Gilmore's proposal.
While Democrats are pushing a plan to pump surplus revenue into public school construction, most legislators believe that some kind of car tax cut will pass this session.
The Senate Finance Committee has scheduled a public hearing tomorrow on Gilmore's plan and a separate bill submitted by Senator Madison Marye.
Marye has proposed cutting the sales tax on groceries.

And, weather continues to force postponements of the skiing contests. The men's downhill and men's combined slalom were both delayed because of heavy snow and poor visibility at Hakuba.
