((Keith Holland and his wife still call themselves newlyweds.
Married nine months, they're planning to buy their first home, right where
Keith Holland first called home.
In Rocky Mount.
Holland is the new town manager here -- and he says he remembers many faces
from his childhood.

IN Q=Very friendly
((VERY FRIENDLY. NO PROBLEM WITH WALKING DOWN THE STREET AND SOMEONE LOOKING
YOU IN THE EYE AND SAYING GOOD MORNING OR HELLO AND THAT MEANS A LOT. QUALITY
OF LIFE MEANS A LOT TO ME IN MY JOB. MY JOB CAN BE FRUSTRATING, IT CAN BE
TRYING AT TIMES. ON THOSE OCCASIONS WHEN YOU KNOW YOU'VE DONE SOMETHING TO
HELP A CITIZEN OR HELP THE COMMUNITY, MAKE IT A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE. IT'S ALL
WORTH IT.))

OUT Q=all worth it
Holland is no newcomer to this line of work -- he's wrapping up a stint as
Vinton's assistant town manager.
But as the Franklin County seat, Rocky Mount is different -- Holland says
business is booming and building I-73 will cement that trend.
He has no big changes in mind -- except to improve relations between town
council and the board of supervisors.
He believes in compromise.

IN Q=I'm fairly easy
((I'M FAIRLY EASY TO GET ALONG WITH. WHEN IT'S TIME FOR BUSINESS, I'M ALL
BUSINESS. I LIKE TO SMILE. I LIKE TO PUT PEOPLE AT EASE. I TRY TO BE VERY
HUMBLE. I WAS RAISED THAT WAY.))
RUNS=:17
OUT Q=that way
These newlyweds say they may even raise little Hollands in Rocky Mount.
