A fire in the laundry at Danville's jail forced an evacuation.

Cleaning rags apparently caught fire in a dryer.
The flames spread through the building's duct work.
Fire fighters were able to extinguish the blaze quickly, but heavy smoke forced deputies to evacuate almost 80 prisoners.
Several female inmates were moved to the courthouse.
About 70 males were taken to the outside recreational area located on the jail's roof.
After the smoke cleared the inmates returned to their cells.

A phone trace allowed authorities to track down a student who confessed to phoning in TWO bomb threats at Giles County high school.
Investigators say the 16- year- old didn't like being picked on by other students, so he made the calls, which resulted in cancelled classes on both occassions.
The first threat occurred on January 20th-- the most recent was yesterday morning.

The water from those tanks runs through filters.. and some of the waste is used to fertilize plants.
