Other positive benefits: the centers are at school, where teens spend most of their day. Students don't have to miss class to go to a doctor-- that reduces absenteeism, and the center addresses a wide range of health issues, from administering aspirin to treating mental illness.

Blacksburg set the tone for the game working the inside on this play Pat Curran scoring the layup.
The Indians went on an 8 to nothing run taking advantage of the Mountaineers inside again Matt Maher on the power move.

the Mountaineers first 8 points here he takes to the hoop strong but Blacksburg holds on for the 43 to 42 win.

The Fighting Blues were more like a blue tornado last night as they battled Covington in the opener.
Take a look at the Blues' efficient ball movement off the inbounds pass as they move it from coast to coast and get the jumper in the corner from Damion Beverly.
The Cougars would have to play catchup on the boards as Courtney Wooding gets the rebound and the bucket. But the Blues still led by 14.

In the nightcap at Dabney Lancaster Community College the James River Knights came in looking to make quick work of Bath County.
The Knights were shooting the lights out from the opening tap as JOey Ingram passes in the corner to Quincy Springs for the sweet squish.
Bath wold attempt to Charge back as Phillip Neff drives in and shoots the deuce as the Chargers take a two point lead.
James River's defense would play tough though for the rest of the game as
Ingram knocks the ball loose and SUPER=33-James River/61/Bath Co./42;
Tommy Blankenship goes in for the layup as the River rolls into regional play with a 61-to-42 win.

Glenvar Head Coach Arthur Lawrence seemed to call all the right plays in tonight's contest against Shawsville.
The Highlanders nab the rebound and Brian Faswacht is on the receiving end of the long pass and gets the bucket on the run.
Shawsville, trying to make up a 20 point difference looks to Jesse Showalter who hits from outside.

But Glenvar turns back Shawsville 63-to-45.
In the next game Floyd County was looking to move a step closer to another state title.
But the Radford Bobcats were making other plans.
Off the inbounds pass Ben Fisher with the baseline jumper and the Bobcats are in command.
But the Buffaloes coming off the stampede Brian Swortzel to Jason Dalton for the bucket.

And everyone in attendance would get to see some great transition basketball. Off the miss, Shaunary Walker flips the rock over her head to Tonia Brown, who turns and fires the perfect bounce pass to Kiann Trent for the the layin.
Pulaski would face a double digit lead most of the game and the Cougars would get this steal at midcourt as Tiffany Conner runs down the loose ball and converts on the other end.
But back come the Colonels as Alycia Garrison shoots the perfect bounce pass
