"Dolly" the cloned sheep has some new competition for the spotlight.
Last Monday-- a cloned calf was born at Virginia Tech's Vet school.
The 98- pound Holstein was produced at P-P-L Therapeutics in Blacksburg
essentially employing the same technique that was used to produce "Dolly".
The calf was named "Mr. Jefferson" in honor of his birth on President's Day

Political Scientist Frederic Torimiro says The U-N chief has long been
capable of handling volatile situations in a peaceful manner.
Torimiro says being an international Secretary General from a developing
country put Annan at an advantage with the Iraqi president.

school, for the same price tag.
The proposed Roanoke Higher Education Center got NO help from either money
committee to restore cuts from Governor Gilmore.
Differences in the two plans must be worked out before facing the Governor's

events schdeuled for a local Black History celebration.

into the streets of New Orleans.
