house on Houston Street where she was offered beer for three dollars.
Authorities do NOT believe the students living here had anything to do with
supplying Mindy Somers alcohol-- although her car was found parked outside the
house the same day-- the 18- year old sophomore, still wearing her camouflage
Halloween costume, fell out her dorm window to her death.
Although her car was found on Houston Street--
Authorities think Somers spent most of the evening partying here at this
student filled apartment complex on Clay Street-- less than a block from the
One witness counted 21- kegs of beer here in the parking lot, stacked in the
shape of a pyramid.
NEWS 7 spoke with several students who paid to get into the party-- None
would appear on camera.
One even verified he collected money at the entrance way.
The cost: three dollars for women, five for men.
Blacksburg Police Chief Bill Brown says the week after Somers death-- the
level of drinking never seemed to slow.

It was 20 year ago that Lawrence Singleton raped 15 year old Mary Vincent. He
cut off her arms and left her for dead-
But Vincent lived and testified against Singleton-
Eight years later Singleton was let out on parole and now he's been
convicted again- of murdering a Florida woman.
Today Vincent testified at the penalty phase of the trial.
