ABC-agents are still investigating the death of a Virginia Tech sophomore who fell eight stories to her death after a night of heavy drinking.
And while authorities want to make an arrest, some believe those who supplied the 18-year old with alcohol will never be prosecuted.

On several occasions-- NEWS 7 sent an underage newsroom intern inside this house on Houston Street where she was offered beer for three dollars.
Authorities do NOT believe the students living here had anything to do with supplying Mindy Somers alcohol-- although her car was found parked outside the house the same day-- the 18- year old sophomore, still wearing her camouflage Halloween costume, fell out her dorm window to her death. Although her car was found on Houston Street--
Authorities think Somers spent most of the evening partying here at this student filled apartment complex on Clay Street-- less than a block from the Blacksburg P-D.
One witness counted 21- kegs of beer here in the parking lot, stacked in the shape of a pyramid. END SU ))

Al Copenhaver's Maroons came up 81 and took a 21-to-14 lead on Glenvar after a quarter.
But Brian Fasnacht would get the Highlanders back in the game with moves like like this sweet pullup "J" right before intermission.
Then the other number 24 would make his mark right before the third quarter buzzer. Lance Goff hits the running jumper to tie the game at 40 heading to the final period.
Fasnacht, who had 23 points, gave Glenvar a three point lead with under 30 seconds to go in the game.
But Goff had a chance to tie it with two ticks to go after he was fouled

Curtis Staples scored 17 points last night, but failed to set the NCAA carrer three pointer record as the Virginia Cavaliers closed out the regular season last night hosting the Terps of Maryland.

Maryland fell behind by 7 but Loran Profit sets up in corner behind the line and hits this three pointer cutting the lead to 4.

The Lady Hokies of Virginia tech opened the Atlantic 10 conference tournament tonight at the Cassell against Fordham.

Early in the first half, Michelle Housewright breaks through the Fordham defense with the pass to Lynette Nolley who taps it in off the glass for an early lead.
Housewright would again get an assist to Renee Maitland on the right side she hits the three pointer Tech led 35 to 16 in the first.
Late in the half, Sara Hicks gets the assist inside to Kim Seaver who knocks down the jumper for a 41 to 21 halftime lead.

Tech/79/Fordham/40/;to dominate as Maitland throws the bounce pass to Nolley who hits two of her game high 16 and Tech wins it 79 to 40.
