Blacksburg police chief, Bill Brown, says a week after Mindy Somers fell
eight stories to her death-- underage drinking around town was as strong as
ever.
Brown is NOT involved in the Somers' investigation--
That's been left up to agents with the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control
Board.
Sources say ABC agents have concluded Somers spent most of that evening--
partying here at this apartment complex on Clay Street, where students charged
partygoers for beer.
One witness said he counted 21- kegs in the parking lot-- stacked in the
shape of a pyramid.
Sources say-- to date ABC agents have been able to trace only THREE of the
21 kegs, which were purchased by ONE student.

South Boston police arrested two men Saturday after they tried to cash some
of those checks.
The suspects are Jerry Miller and Brad Coles, both of South Boston.
A bank alerted police that the two men tried to cash one of the checks taken
from Debbie's Staffing Services.
Suspect Brad Coles is also charged with possession of cocaine, after police

in the chronic treatment of asthma in adults and children ages 6 and older.
It's approved for long-term use, but should not be used to treat acute asthma

The retail cost of a month's supply of Singulair will be between 69 and 72
dollars.

Health officials say five children in Washington state have been sickened by
E-coli bacteria--one, an 18-month-old, is in critical
condition at a Spokan hospital.
The other four are not as sick.
Three of the cases involve children at the downtown Y-M-C-A day
care center in Spokan.
Another case is the sibling of a day care attendee.
Officials don't know if the fifth case is linked.
While E-coli is most often spread through undercooked meat,
the cause of this outbreak is not yet known.
Health inspectors have examined the Y-M-C-A's kitchen, swimming pool, and
diaper changing areas.

Palace today.
There is no video of the ceremony, however, because the singer eluded

records.
With lyricist Bernie Taupin (tow-pin) John topped the music charts for
more than two decades, despite years struggling with drugs and alcohol.
