38 bodies have been found so far.

The California Highway Patrol says two of its officers have been found in
their overturned submerged patrol car-
Divers are trying to clear away debris to see if the officers are inside.
The car was washed into a river when Highway 166 gave way.
At least three others cars and a semi-trailer plunged into the river.

One person was found dead in his home in Laguna Beach- Ten others were hurt
including a nine month old baby.
It's been more than three months since an 18-year old Virginia Tech student
fell to her death from her dorm room window.
Mindy Somers was legally drunk at the time and authorities vowed to find
those who supplied her with alcohol.

Teresa Hamilton has been looking into the case-- and joins us from our
Blacksburg newsroom with the latest.
Jean, of course authorities would like to make an arrest.
But so far-- their investigation has NOT turned up enough evidence to seek
charges against those who supplied Somers with alcohol.

Blacksburg police chief, Bill Brown, says a week after Mindy Somers fell
eight stories to her death-- underage drinking around town was as strong as
Brown is NOT involved in the Somers' investigation--
That's been left up to agents with the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control
Sources say ABC agents have concluded Somers spent most of that evening--
partying here at this apartment complex on Clay Street, where students charged
partygoers for beer.
One witness said he counted 21- kegs in the parking lot-- stacked in the
shape of a pyramid.
Sources say-- to date ABC agents have been able to trace only THREE of the
21 kegs, which were purchased by ONE student.
The ABC investigation is still open-- but source NEWS 7 spoke with-- say
unless agents are able to find more witnesses and evidence they probably won't
be able to make any arrests.

A dorm at Virginia Tech will not change its future because of the past.
The dorm is named after Claudius Lee.
Lee was a Tech professor who was allegedly a member of the Ku Klux Klan in
the late 1890s.
But after checking into the allegations, the university administration has
decided NOT to re-name the dorm.

U-S leaders say they want to test the deal to make sure Iraq complys.
The U-S ambassador to the U-N says it'll take a few days just to go over
details of the agreement.
An update now on a story we told you about last week involving stolen
South Boston police arrested two men Saturday after they tried to cash some
of those checks.
The suspects are Jerry Miller and Brad Coles, both of South Boston.
A bank alerted police that the two men tried to cash one of the checks taken
from Debbie's Staffing Services.
Suspect Brad Coles is also charged with possession of cocaine, after police

The US Food and Drug Administration has approved monte-loo-kast, a new
once-a-day drug for the treatment of asthma in children and adults.
The drug, to be marketed under the name Singulair, has been approved for use
in the chronic treatment of asthma in adults and children ages 6 and older.
It's approved for long-term use, but should not be used to treat acute asthma
attacks or symptoms, or abruptly substituted for oral or inhaled steroids.
The retail cost of a month's supply of Singulair will be between 69 and 72
T-Cell leukemia is a difficult kind of cancer to treat.
Doctors use intense chemotherapy which is hard on patients, but researchers at
the University of Virginia Medical Center are trying to change that.
Dr. Kimberly Dunsmore is developing a therapy using the patients own immune
system to more effectively kill the cancer.
She's experimenting using blood from healthy volunteers and from patients
who have leukemia.

The findings could be used to treat other diseases by boosting the immune
system -- possibly even AIDS.
Health officials say five children in Washington state have been sickened by
E-coli bacteria--one, an 18-month-old, is in critical
condition at a Spokan hospital.
The other four are not as sick.
Three of the cases involve children at the downtown Y-M-C-A day
care center in Spokan.
Another case is the sibling of a day care attendee.
Officials don't know if the fifth case is linked.
While E-coli is most often spread through undercooked meat,
the cause of this outbreak is not yet known.
Health inspectors have examined the Y-M-C-A's kitchen, swimming pool, and
diaper changing areas.
Some of the restaurants in downtown Roanoke just got a little healthier.
The restaurants, along with Carilion Health Systems and Downtown Roanoke
Incoporated, announced an "Eating Right" campaign today.

The two sport star at Hampton high school, hinted last night that he may not
play football in college.
Last night he hinted that he may concentrate solely on basketball and attend
the University of North Carolina.
Curry verbally committed to UVa last year to play football, but now he says

He is scheduled to visit Tallahassee this coming weekend.
Plus, keep this in mind. Last night Curry was named the McDonald's
basketball player of the year, and there are starting to be rumblings that he
also is considering a direct path to the NBA.
Nike is reportedly ready to offer him $8 million if he goes that route.
If that sounds crazy - remember - last year high school senior Tracy McGrady
signed a $12 million dollar deal with Adidas straight out Mt. Zion Christian
academy in Durham. He now plays with the Toronto Raptors.
