Some 400 jobs could be coming to southwest Virginia in the form of a prison.
A team from the Federal Bureau of Prisons will evaluate five sites in three southwest Virginia counties for a possible prison.
Congressman Rick Boucher said the site selection team will review sites in Tazewell, Buchanan and Dickenson counties.
The exact locations have not been disclosed.
The proposed prison and the jobs it will bring are also being sought by officials in West Virginia, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
A decision is expected this summer.
